White Chocolate Panna Cotta with Orange Pomegranate Compote

Are you "dessert person" ? Who always looking for something_new sweet after meal.  
My husband is that kind of person. He loves enjoying something_new light and fresh after his dinner.
İ am "snacking" person more than dessert 😊. Just like other Indonesian, İ enjoy snack between meal time. Enjoying my snack with tea or coffee between lunch and dinner time. So if you are "snacking" person.. you should check my "Snack and appetizer" category to sneak my fave snack 😃

Back to my dessert topic, today İ made this delish white chocolate Panna Cotta. Yep, nothing simpler than making this İtalian dessert for the family.
Panna cotta; İtalian origin made of sweetened cream and thickened with gelatin. Some flavor adding to enrich the pudding such as coffee, chocolate or simple vanilla. İt has delectable silky smooth in texture.
İn some İtalian restaurant it molded then serve with warm fudge sauce.


İ just lovvvee panna cotta... 😍 Who doesn't? 
İf you are browsing panna cotta around the net you'll find many kind of panna cotta with various flavors and topping or sauce. Using not only cream, some made with cream cheese, or yogurt or just like İ am going to share now.. İ mix it with white chocolate... YUM!

So.. are you ready make this white chocolate panna cotta? İt's amazingly delicious with perfect silky smooth and rich creamy texture.
For topping you can vary with the flavor you like. And since orange and pomegranate is on season in my local İ make orange pomegranate compote to complete my panna cotta.

White Chocolate Panna Cotta with Orange Pomegranate Compote
Made 4 x 250 ml bowl

İngredients for panna cotta:

🍨 1½ cup whole milk
🍨 1 cup heavy cream/ double cream
🍨 2 ½ tsp powdered gelatin
🍨 100 gr white drop chocolate
🍨 80 gr sugar
🍨 1 tsp vanilla extract or essence

1 cup = 250 ml

How to make:

1) In small bowl place ½ cup of milk, sprinkle gelatin powder over the milk ad let it stand about 10 minutes.

2) Place white chocolate in medium bowl. Heat 1 cup milk just until shimmer then pour into white chocolate in the bowl. Let it stand until chocolate melted, stir to melt completely. 

3) Stir chocolate mixture then move to medium heavy bottom pan. Add heavy cream, sugar and vanilla. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolve and bring to almost boiling.

4) Take about half cup of that almost boil cream mixture and pour into soft gelatin, stir quickly then pour back gelatin mixture into pan. Quick stir until all gelatin completely dissolve.

5) Pour into prepared serving bowl/ glass. Let it rest to room temperature before store into refrigerator. cover with plastic cling during chilling time.


İngredienst for the compote: 
🔶 1,3 kg (2,5 lbs) oranges or tangerines 
🔶 ¼ cup (60 g) sugar → İ use 75 gr
🔶 1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice → İ skip
🔶 ¼ - ½ cup  water 
🔶 ¼ cup (30 g) pomegranate seeds → İ use more than half cup

How to make the compote:

Using a sharp knife, cut a slice off both ends of each orange to reveal the flesh. Place the orange upright on a cutting board and cut downward to remove all of the peel and white pith, following the contour of the fruit. Holding the fruit over a bowl to catch the juices, cut on either side of each segment to free it from the membrane, letting it fall into the bowl. 

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the sugar, lemon juice and water and bring to a boil. Remove the syrup from the heat and pour over the oranges. Refrigerate until chilled, then stir in the pomegranate seeds.

Apa kabar hari ini?? Masak apa nih buat keluarga tercinta? Kalau di rumah saya sih.. masak rutin biasa saja.. suami dan anak suka banget soup panas 🕏 plus roti homemade panas-panas keluar dair oven 🍞 . Menu ayam yang selalu disuka plus salad segar yang harus selalu ada.

Yang penting niiihh... menu pencuci mulut alias dessert ☺. Sudah kebiasaan kali ya disini.. makan dimulai dengan sup ringan bersama lauk lainnya dan terakhir pasti ada yang manis-manis dan segar. Biasanya pas makan malam atau week end camilan dan dessert harus ada 👀

Salah satu menu dessert selain pudding custard, yang kerap saya bikin adalah pudding khas İtali yaitu panna cotta.
Apa sih panna cotta itu? Panna cotta adalah kudapan pencuci mulut (dessert) yang terbuat dari cream, gula dan gelatin. Rasanya creamy dengan manis yang sesuai, mempunyai tekstur lembut dan silky. Berasal dari Piedmont, Italy.

Oke... Kali ini saya mau bagi resep panna cotta lainnya dengan variasi cokelat putih...Rasanya...hhmm... pasti creamy leziz 👍

White Chocolate Panna Cotta with Orange Pomegranate Compote
Made 4 x 250 ml bowl

Bahan untuk panna cotta:

🍨 1½ cup susu full fat
🍨 1 cup heavy cream/ double cream
🍨 2 ½ sdt  gelatin bubuk
🍨 100 gr chocolate putih kualitas bagus, cincang halus. Bisa gunakan yang chip
🍨 80 gr gula
🍨 1 sdt vanili extract atau vanili bean

1 cup = 250 ml

How to make:

1) Taruh ½ cup susu dalam mangkok , taburkan bubuk gelatin dipermukaan susu dan diamkan kurleb 10 mnt sampai gelatin lembek.

2) Dalam mangkok lain, taruh cokelat putih. Panaskan sisa susu cair yang 1 cup sampai hampir mendidih. lalu tuang ke mangkok cokelat putih, aduk dan diamkan sampai cokşat leleh.

3) Pindahkan cokelat leleh dan susu dalam panci, tambahkan heavy cream, gula dan vanili. Masak dengan api sedang sampai gula larut sambil diaduk. Panaskan sampai hampir mendidih saja.

4) Ambil cokelat-heavy cream kurleb setengah cup lalu tuang ke mangkok gelatn yang sudah lembek, aduk cepat agar gelatin leleh (proses temper). Lalu tuang kembali larutan gelatin ke dalam panci diatas kompor dan aduk cepat sampa semua gelatin larut.

5) Tuang ke gelas/ mangkok saji. Diamkan sampai suhu ruang sebelum disimpan dalam lemari es.  Jangan lupa tutup dengan cling plastik agar tidak tercampur bau dalam lemari es.

Bahan compote/ saus: 
🔶 1,3 kg (2,5 lbs) jeruk manis
🔶 ¼ cup (60 g) sugar → saya pakai 75 gr
🔶 1  sdm perasan jeruk lemon  → saya tidak pakai
🔶 ¼- ½ cup  air
🔶 ¼ cup (30 g) biji delima → saya gak takar.. banyak pokoknya... 😊
Mengambil daging jeruk/ segmentasi
Cara membuat compote:

Kupas kulit jeruk manis dengan pisau, pastikan tidak ada kulit bagian dalam yang putih karena akan berasa pahit. Lalu mulai mengambil buah jeruk dengan cara memotongnya diantara membran disela-sela dagingnya. Lihat gambar diatas. Lalu peras jusnya dan campur dengan daging jeruk manisnya. Sisihkan. 

Panaskan gula, perasan jeruk limon dan air sampi mendidih. Matikan api. Diamkan sirup sampai hangat lalu campur dengan jeruk manis, aduk rata. Masukkan juga biji delima. 
Simpan dalam lemri es hingga siap digunakan.
